Workflow Actions Titles in Arabic

2011/03/02

I can imagine the feeling of SharePoint Developers when they start designing workflows using SharePoint Designer for SharePoint sites using Arabic language pack Open-mouthed smile, they will be confused and lost with these literally weird translated actions!!, some of them will open two designers, one with English site, and the other with Arabic site to compare the actions names and make sure that the action “تعيين سير العمل إلى متغير” is the same action “Set Workflow Variable” , I don’t really know why actions titles have been translated into these weird stuff!! but to be honest, I don’t know what’s the best Arabic translation for these actions, because all of these terms are very technical and unfortunately we don’t have a solid unified technical dictionary in our Arabic language community.

To make it easier for developers including myself, I listed all the SharePoint Designer Workflow Actions and their categories in Arabic and English as a reference for future needs.

For the Memory of Gaza… Too Young To Die..

2010/12/30

This is a volunteery efforts to create a Web-Based Data Visualization for all the Palestinian martyrs during the last 62 Years, as a beginning we are extracting the information about the 352 Killed Children during the last Attack on GAZA by the Israeli occupation forces depending on the “Defense for Children International Web Site” reports, in addition to the photos if it’s available, and then uploading it to CreatePivot site.

Initially we have uploaded data about 120 innocent children killed in their homes between 27 December 2008 and 18 January 2009.

First of all you have to install the Silverlight Technology Plugin from here if you don’t have it, then you can view the Visualized Information here.

We will continue updating the database in the upcoming weeks as much as possible.

Thanks Mo’ath Al-Araj for the help.

2010/12/27

This is a complimentary post to my pervious one about the Communities and Events in Jordan, to make it shortly, i created a Pivot collection for Palestinian communities to visualize the communities information in Palestine such as Group Name, Web Site, Facebook Page, etc.…

Amman Technical Communities and Events WTF

2010/12/27

The Boom:

So if you have been living in Amman for the last year, you would have seen a lot of techie movement around; communities’ launchings, sessions and events. Mostly are announced on social media sites like Facebook and twitter.

The huge number of those events every month makes it seem like a boom to a normal person… as they can’t attend all of them, it becomes confusing which one to attend, which eventually leads sometimes to some disappointments for some attendees because they find out that objectives of these events are different than what they expected.

I decided to write this blog post as a guidance for new bios and followers to know “What To Follow” from the Amman communities.

Specialized and Non-Specialized Communities:

First of all, I want to categorize communities in Amman into two categories: Specialized and Non-Specialized Communities.
The specialized community is a group of people who are interested in specific technologies, they focus in their technical sessions on some of those technologies topics, doing a deep dive sessions in monthly/weekly basis into a particular technology stack topics such as Microsoft .NET Platform, the Open Source Technologies, SharePoint Technologies, etc.…

On the other hand, Non specialized community is the group of people who are interested in the “Bigger Picture” of technology topics, such as AmmanTT Community, which is doing monthly sessions every Tuesday talking about a different general topic that is related to the technical world.

What To Follow (WTF):

Now, in order to know more about Amman communities and to know with which community your interests meet, I will list below each community with some details about it, such as : the target audience, social media resources.. etc.…

So all you have to do is to follow the community you are interested in, and you will receive events invitations on a weekly/monthly basis for each user group/community.

Amman Communities Browser:

So in order to view all the Amman Communities, i’ve used the Microsoft Pivot, which is based on SilverLight through the fancy site www.CreatePivot.com.

Click Here to view the Communities.

And finally, if you know any new Group/Community around in Amman that is not mentioned here, it would be great if you let me know so that I can update this post to spread the word and get more and more interested people to our communities.
